Job Summary
The Specialty Clinic Medical Assistant float provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and healthcare providers across various specialty clinics such as Breast Surgery and Gynecology. This role requires flexibility excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments while delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Room patients and obtain vital signs medical history and chief complaints.
Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
Administer medications and injections as directed and within scope of practice.
Perform EKGs specimen collection wound care and other clinical procedures as assigned.
Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Schedule appointments coordinate referrals and obtain insurance authorizations.
Educate patients on medications treatments and follow-up care.
Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain infection control standards.
Float between multiple specialty departments based on staffing needs.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications
Medical Assistant Diploma required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification highly preferred.
Oncology -Gynecology and Breast knowledge preferred
Experience in a specialty clinic or outpatient setting preferred.
Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.
Strong organizational multitasking and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments.
Location
Anticipated hourly range:$23.00 per hour - $25.30 per hour
