The Fitness Manager oversees the daily operations of the gym and fitness floor ensuring a clean safe organized and welcoming environment for members and staff. This leadership role supports the Director of Fitness with staff scheduling equipment inventory and member experience.
- Oversee daily gym and fitness floor operations cleanliness organization and safety.
- Drive the overall member experience and ensure members feel welcomed valued and supported.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs and ensure equipment locker rooms restrooms and storage areas are maintained.
- Inspect equipment and promptly report maintenance or replacement needs.
- Create and manage staff schedules ensuring proper coverage and efficient labor hours.
- Recruit train supervise coach and hold floor staff accountable to department standards.
- Monitor staff attendance professionalism and engagement with members.
- Lead team meetings and communicate department goals expectations updates and priorities.
- Manage gym inventory including ordering stocking and organizing supplies.
- Assist members with questions concerns and daily service needs.
- Create weekly Surprise & Delight initiatives to enhance the member experience.
- Support FitStarts and help generate new personal training opportunities.
- Communicate daily operational staffing maintenance and member concerns to the Director of Fitness.
- Participate and run department initiatives.
- 40 hours per week.
- Schedule flexibility is available based on business needs including some weekends.
- Fitness hospitality customer service or related experience preferred.
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Certified Personal Training certification is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Professional personable and dependable.
- Ability to multitask take initiative and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable working with members and fitness professionals.
- Basic computer email and scheduling skills.
