Duties and Responsibilities (*Denotes essential functions)

1.*Assists with overall grants management including but not limited to: pre-award account establishment and maintenance budget and budget forecasting procurement inventory personnel disbursing reporting and closeout.

2.*Assists senior specialists in managing departments institutes and/or major programs. This includes dealing with appropriated extramural and revolving funds.

3.*Provides administrative staff support and advisement to higher level personnel organizational groups colleges or programs in the performance of work of limited scope difficulty or complexity in a specialty area.

and applies methods techniques and principles of the specialty area and keeps abreast of emerging changes and updates.

5.*Assists senior specialist in the performance of both detailed and routine work and performs or assists with reviews and analyses to provide information.

performs assignments of limited scope and complexity in the specialty area involving application of standard policies and regulations and widely accepted methods and practices.

in the development or improvement of procedures; makes recommendations or performs functions of comparable scope and difficulty in support of the program(s).

with development preparation and transmittal of reports with limited complexity and/or special nonrecurring reports for internal and external review/distribution as needed.

with development and/or presentation of information of limited scope to management and/or other personnel; written and/or oral reports and/or recommendations.

in the supervision development and training of other junior fiscal staff clerical staff or students as directed.

11.*Performs specific portions of work to provide orientation familiarization and training in the specialty area(s).

and/or conduct fiscal compliance training of average difficulty to departmental Principal Investigators (PIs) managers and administrative support staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration Accounting or related field and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for sponsored project administration general business management financial or governmental accounting; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated

knowledge of principles practices and techniques in business management or fiscal administration demonstrated by knowledge understanding and ability to apply concepts terminology.

knowledge and understanding of principles theories federal and state laws rules regulations and systems associated with business management or fiscal administration.

ability to recognize problems identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the business management.

ability to understand oral and written documentation write reports and procedures and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.

ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team members and individuals.

ability to operate a personal computer apply word processing software and spreadsheet software.


Desirable Qualifications
