First-year Enrollment Counselor

• Recruit prospective first-year students within an assigned geographic territory and contribute to established University enrollment goals.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with prospective students parents and families high school counselors teachers and other community partners.
• Counsel prospective students and families throughout the admission process including application admission financial aid and enrollment-related next steps.
• Conduct consistent and timely outreach to prospective students through telephone email text messaging virtual engagement and other communication channels.
• Represent Batten University at high school visits college fairs recruitment programs community events and other enrollment activities.
• Conduct individual and group presentations for prospective students families and high school personnel.
• Maintain accurate and timely prospective student records and recruitment activity within the Universitys enrollment management systems.
• Monitor assigned applicant and inquiry populations and conduct appropriate follow-up to support application completion admission and enrollment.
• Collaborate with Enrollment Management colleagues and other University departments to support recruitment initiatives campus visit programs admitted-student events and other enrollment activities.
• Participate in occasional overnight recruitment travel and evening and weekend programs as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Universitys enrollment objectives.

Required:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
• Previous experience in admissions sales telemarketing recruitment customer service or a related relationship-driven environment.
• Strong written verbal interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to engage prospective students and develop positive professional relationships.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a member of a collaborative team.
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally overnight and work evenings and weekends as required.
• Commitment to representing Batten University professionally and enthusiastically.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in higher education admission enrollment management student recruitment or a related field.
• Experience working with prospective college students and their families.
• Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) student information or enrollment management system.

The successful candidate will be energetic creative personable and comfortable initiating conversations and developing relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. The position requires a strong customer-service orientation attention to detail sound judgment and the ability to communicate effectively with prospective students families high school personnel and University colleagues.

The First-Year Enrollment Counselor must also demonstrate an appreciation for the value of a private liberal arts and sciences education and the ability to authentically communicate the distinctive opportunities available to students at Batten University.

This position requires periodic travel within an assigned recruitment territory including occasional overnight travel. Evening and weekend work is required at various times throughout the recruitment and enrollment cycle. The position may also require attendance at University recruitment events open houses admitted-student programs and other enrollment-related activities outside of normal business hours.

Salary: Mid-$40000s commensurate with qualifications and experience
