Are you ready to take action when it matters most American Ordnance is looking for dedicated and driven individuals to join our team as a this critical role youll respond to emergencies operate firefighting equipment maintain fire apparatus readiness and help protect people property and operations every day. As the Firefighter heres the work youll do:

  • Safely drive firefighting units to and from fires or other emergencies following laws and regulations. Operate pumps and power and other mechanical equipment as required. Keep inventory of tools and equipment on trucks.
  • Clean and service units maintaining them in a condition of readiness. Report mechanical failures or difficulties and missing or damaged equipment.
  • Operate various Fire Department pumping apparatus with multiple water intake and discharge situations at an emergency scene with limited supervision.
  • Perform required fire truck cleaning duties inventory checks and daily/weekly/monthly inspections. Inventories must be check after every emergency response or training drill.

This role is for you if you have these Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required.
  • Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant drivers license which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner indicating it is federally compliant OR Current Passport.
  • Two years related experience Required.
  • Firefighter I Firefighter II Fire Inspector IDriver Operator Pumper I Hazmat Technician Required.
  • Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Required.
  • Must pass quarterly and yearly physical agility testing.
  • Must be able to obtain secret clearance.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with team members is essential for contributing to a cohesive work environment.

American Ordnance will assist candidates in obtaining any required certifications they do not yet possess including scheduling courses mentoring/ training support and coordinating required testing.

In compliance with this states pay transparency lawsthe salary range for this role is $29.60 - $30.78/HR.This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire schedule type and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
