Job: Fire Protection Engineering Intern Fire Protection group

Location: Lenexa KS

GBA Companies is welcoming Engineering students to join us this upcoming summer for an internship in our Fire Protection group.

As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern youll:

• Assist with preparing designs analyses calculations and models related to fire protection systems life safety systems and passive fire protection building features.
• Assist with conducting project site visits to observe construction and witness system testing.
• Follow quality control processes and design standards.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams.
• Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural Engineering Fire Protection Engineering or another related engineering degree from accredited program.
• 3.0 GPA or higher strongly preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD Revit and Microsoft Office software is preferred
• Experience with architectural/architectural engineering projects or internships is preferred.
• Finished at least two years of school
• Involved in campus community and other volunteer activities and/ or organization
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

• Ability to sit stand walk around the office for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
