Job Summary:
The Fire Protection designer will lead Revit production drafting coordination and construction documents for fire protection systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors including DOW Federal and Private Space Industry projects. This position is offered in a hybrid work environment with a combination of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.
In this role you will:
- Lead Revit production and preparation of fire protection construction documents for multiple projects.
- Produce complex floor plans riser diagrams schedules details and equipment layouts for new and renovation projects.
- Work independently with minimal oversight.
- Coordinate Revit models with mechanical electrical structural and architectural disciplines.
- Discuss design during architect/client design review meetings and coordinate design development.
- Lead clash detection and resolution coordination issues during design development.
- Manage drawing deliverables deadlines and production priorities for assigned projects.
- Prepare design calculations and selection of equipment for building fire protection systems.
- Write and edit fire protection specifications engineering reports and other technical design documentation.
- Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards and apply requirements to project designs.
- Support construction administration through submittal reviews RFIs punch walks field revisions and as-built updates.
Operational Responsibilities
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal standards training and quality control procedures.
- Support proposals bid site visits and business development efforts as needed.
You will be a great fit if:
- You have a minimum of 5 years of fire protection design experience
- NICET Certification - Preferred
- Musthave working knowledge of theASHRAE ASME NFPA and NEC;with a preference for knowledge of the IBC IMC IECC and IPC requirements.
Skills/abilities:
- Proficient in performing hydraulic calculations and using industry standard software such as AutoSPRINK or similar.
- Proficient in Bluebeam Revu Revit AutoCAD and MS Office
- Familiarity with codes standards and design guidelines
- Excellent work ethic and attitude
- Good communication and time management skills
- Interpersonal communication skills combined with organizational skills the ability to plan balance and prioritize work
Location: Merritt Island FL (HYBRID) REMOTE CONSIDERED AS WELL
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- Must be a US Citizen for Security Clearance requirements.
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $80000 - $100000USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills experience qualifications and location.
