The Fire Inspector II under supervision completes fire and life safety inspections and assists EHS in ensuring a safe environment by identifying unsafe conditions. Leads and schedules evacuation exercises for campus facilities. Assists in updating and creating emergency plans for campus facilities. Completes basic plan reviews construction inspections and code compliance reviews. Learns and assists in more complex plan reviews.

Salary: $57000

Responsibilities:

• Completes fire and life safety inspections in campus buildings residence halls and others. These duties may require operating a University vehicle.

• Assists in the development of emergency evacuation plans and reviews submitted plans to ensure information is correct and up to date.

• Provides training to audiences on a broad range of topics related to fire and life safety as directed.

• Leads and schedules evacuation exercises for campus facilities.

• Completes training and utilizes procedures for completing basic plan reviews construction inspections and code compliance reviews.

• Responds with other EHS personnel to emergencies on campus and assists emergency responders.

Required Education and Experience:

• Associate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

• One (1) year of related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience with the Commissioning of Fire & Life Safety Systems.

• Experience with Basic Plan Reviews for construction.

• TCFP Fire Inspector Basic Certification.
