Job Description

To analyze researchforecast and reconcile complex financial documents; ensure compliance withlaws rules and policies; perform related work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for financial duties within the Emergency Services Department (ESD). In addition to the duties of a Financial Technician outlined below this position will provide key customer service for the ESD based programs on the Pocatello campus. The position is expected to work closely with staff and faculty on the Meridian campus as well.

This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Nature and Scope

Incumbents have broadknowledge of the organizations programs and financial requirements to preparereconcile and balance financial transactions.

At this level incumbents are typically responsible for specific financialduties such as accounts payable accounts receivable payroll budgetjournals etc. identify and correct errors and discrepancies; determine costallocations; maintain logs ledgers journals; and develop ad hoc reportswork/spread sheets and other financial documents. Incumbents may compile andprepare budget data and monitor cash balances. They recommend and may designbookkeeping-type record systems and implement approved changes.

Incumbentsreview complete and process financial documents and ensuretheir compliance with laws regulations and policies for approval orrecommended approval. They determine and assign liability penalty andinterest and resolve disputes.

Incumbents require experience using computer systems to retrieve enter andedit financial data.

Some incumbents deal extensively with business representatives and/or thegeneral public to identify and resolve non-routine issues involving laws andregulations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with other departments in the College of Pharmacy and Health Professions with the financial aspects of grant management.

The successful candidate may act as a liaison between the Emergency Services Department and external customers. This may include occasional on-campus meetings or recruitment events.

The successful candidate will support and perform general office duties using established guidelines under direct supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

Some knowledge of financial record keeping.

Experience:
-Researching and compiling financialinformation and preparing summaries and reports.
-Using personal computers to enter retrieve and edit financial data.

Specialty Requirement

These positions at ISU require experienceusing MS Excel.

ISU minimum for this classification is $17.25/hour commensuratewith education and experience.
