Job Description

To analyze researchforecast and reconcile complex financial documents; ensure compliance withlaws rules and policies; perform related work.

The Financial Technician for the Budget Department serves as the primary steward of the Universitys position budgeting. Reporting to the Senior Director of Institutional Budget & Planning within the Division of Finance this role ensures budget-related personnel actions are accurately represented in the Universitys budget and finance systems. The Financial Technician is responsible for ensuring that every faculty and staff position is accurately funded tracked and reconciled within ISUs financial systems. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity of the Universitys largest expenditure: its people. The ideal candidate is a highly detailed thrives on precision is process-oriented and enjoys high-volume data management.

This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the final reviewer and processing point for all personnel budget updates and adjustments.

- Initiate and execute position budget changes and labor distribution updates within the Millennium FAST Budget module.

- Perform rigorous reviews of incoming personnel requests to ensure compliance with University policies funding availability and technical accuracy of data.

- Work closely with HR and departmental managers to ensure accuracy of requests and provide timely feedback.

Minimum Qualifications

Some knowledge of financial record keeping.

Experience:

- Researching and compiling financial information and preparingsummaries and reports.

- Using personal computers to enter retrieve and editfinancial data.

ISU minimum for this classification is $17.25/hour commensuratewith education and experience.
