Verizon is looking for an experienced and talented lawyer to support its financial products and services. The right candidate must be a skilled and seasoned lawyer with excellent judgment and interpersonal and communication skills who is interested in taking on a wide variety of projects and working at a fast pace both independently and as a collegial team member.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Verizons device payment program by advising on new initiatives managing regulatory licensing and related filings and applications and responding to regulatory examinations.
• Serving as the primary product lawyer for Verizons other financial products and services including the Verizon Visa Card and Verizons promotional partnership with Openbank.
• Evaluating impacts of changes to state and federal laws that impact financial products and services.
• Working with internal partners in both Verizon Consumer Group and Verizon Business Group to develop communications and training materials for device payment products and services to promote compliance with relevant requirements and mitigate risk.
• Negotiating and drafting agreements amendments and side letters with third-party financial and insurance partners.
• Maintaining processes for reviewing marketing materials and disclosures.

Youll need to have:

• JD Degree
• Six or more years of relevant experience required demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience or specialized training.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Familiarity with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) rules and regulations the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and Regulation B The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Regulation V the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and Regulation Z and prohibitions of unfair deceptive or abusive acts or practices (UDAAPs) among others.
• Background in the financial services fintech or credit card industry including in the areas of compliance payments and card processing.
• Knowledge and substantive experience handling consumer credit card lending installment sales and/or other consumer financial products and services.
• Experience taking the initiative to develop lead and implement projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to professionally manage time prioritize multiple responsibilities and process a high volume of work in a timely and accurate manner with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team but also act independently and autonomously when required.

In this hybrid role youll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $161000.00 - $280000.00.
