About the Team

The Oncology Services team supports patients throughout their cancer care journey by coordinating clinical financial and supportive services. The Financial Navigation function works closely with clinical staff patient financial services and external payers to ensure every patient hastimelyaccess to the treatments they need by removing financial and insurance-related barriers.

Mission for Position

To ensure every oncology patient has cleartimelyfinancial guidance and uninterrupted access to care by proactively managing insurance authorizations and financialassistanceresources.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Guidepatients through insurance billing and financialassistanceprocesses.

• Verify insurance benefits andmaintainaccuratecoverage information.

• Manage all prior authorizations for infusion oral chemotherapy radiation and VA services

• Trackauthorizationexpirations renewals appeals andrequireddocumentation (including RFS forms).

• Coordinate financialassistanceprograms (co-pay grants free drug programs patientassistanceliving-expensesupport).

• Monitorassistancebalances and ensuretimelydelivery of medications.

• Assistwith mileage reimbursement cost estimates andMNSureapplications.

• Support PET scan services byvalidatingpayable codes andassistingwith appeals.

• Provide cross-coverage for oncology scheduling prior authorization functions pharmacy coordination denials management and insurance verification.

• Maintaintimelyaccuratedocumentation in Epic and related systems.

• Collaborate with clinical staff financial services and social services to support patient needs.

• Respond to patient questionsregardingcoverage and billing with empathy and clarity.

Position Type

This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong customer service skills

• Scheduling experience

• Insurance/authorization knowledge

• Ability to shift gears quickly between patient-facing work and behind-the-scenes financial work

• Familiarity with Epicand payer portals.

• Minimum 5 years experience in a healthcare or related setting.

• Knowledge of medical terminology insurance processes and prior authorization workflows.

• Understanding ofinsurance benefits financialassistanceprograms and billing processes.

• Strong communicationand patient-centered customer service skills.

• Excellent organization accuracy and time-management abilities.

• Ability to navigate complex payer requirements andshiftingpriorities.
