Job Summary

Position Overview:

The Student Financial Services (SFS) Department is looking for a Financial Literacy Student Assistant to support financial education initiatives on campus. This role involves creating engaging financial literacy content for social media researching and sharing scholarship opportunities and representing financial literacy at campus events. Additional responsibilities include general office support occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vet and publish scholarship opportunities to ensure students receive accuratetimely and relevant information.
  • Create and manage financial literacy content for social media (e.g. budgeting scholarships student loans money management).
  • Research and draft engaging posts that make financial topics accessible and relevant to students.
  • Engage students by promoting financial literacy initiatives both online and at campus insights and success stories from students faculty and staff to feature in content.
  • Support general office operations including data entry and responding to inquiries.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Interested in personal finance education social media or student support services.

Required Skills:

  • Strong writing proofreading and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Google Suite and Canva (knowledge of other design tools like video editing is a plus).
  • Understanding of good design composition color and visual storytelling for socialmedia.
  • Availability to attend and support financial literacy events on campus.

Additional Requirements & Preferences:

  • Must be a current La Sierra University student.
  • Graduate students preferred especially those with a background in Business MarketingCommunication or Finance.
  • Basic knowledge of office procedures including email communication data entry and customer service.
  • Writing and social media content samples must be provided (see instructions below).

Wage Range:
$16.90 - $18.10/hr
