Job Summary
Teledyne FLIR is seeking an experienced Accounting & Financial Analyst to support a portfolio of defense programs within the Detection business unit. This highly visible role serves as a key financial partner to program managers engineering teams and business leadership by providing budgeting forecasting financial modeling cost analysis reporting and project performance insights.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review journal entries accruals and other month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
Support monthly quarterly and year-end financial close processes while maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Assist with financial reporting ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to corporate financial policies U.S. GAAP and government contract requirements.
Develop and maintain financial models forecasts budgets and scenario analyses to support business objectives and strategic decision-making.
Monitor program budgets actuals forecasts and funding utilization across contract and Internal Research & Development (IRAD) portfolios.
Analyze labor material and project costs identifying trends risks and opportunities to improve financial performance.
Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial reports dashboards and performance metrics for business leaders.
Support annual operating plan (AOP) forecasting and long-range planning processes.
Partner with program managers engineering teams and business leaders to provide financial analysis and decision support.
Collaborate with accounting operations contracts and other stakeholders to support program execution reporting and process improvements.
Job Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or related field required.
5 years of experience in accounting financial analysis FP&A program finance project finance cost accounting project accounting or related finance roles.
Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling forecasting budgeting scenario analysis and variance analysis.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
