About the Opportunity
The Financial Analyst supports the annual tuition and feesetting process the UNC System all-funds budget process system strategicfinancial metrics and other ad-hoc reporting needs for the Financial Planningand Analysis Division. Responsibilities include duties in the following areas:

Tuition and Fees:
The position isresponsible for supporting the annual tuition and fee setting processincluding collecting campus tuition and fee proposals reviewing and analyzingcampus submissions supporting the System Office working group and supportingthe Board of Governors Committee on Budget & Finances oversight of theTuition and Fees process. Other ad-hoc analysis may include exploring tuitionand fee policies at peer institutions systemsand national trends and providing data-based analysis and guidance.

All Funds Budget:
The position isresponsible for supporting the all-funds budget process which may includecollecting the proposed all-funds budgets from institutions supporting theCommittee on Budget & Finances oversight and enactment of the budgetaryprocess and providing data-based analysis of the budgets includingidentifying budgetary goals and comparisons topast performance.

Ad-hoc Reporting andSpecial Projects:
The analyst willsupport the Financial Planning and Analysis teams ad-hoc reporting needsincluding using Finance Data Mart(FDM) resources to evaluate data. The analyst will explore possibilities forusing FDM for the purpose of dashboards and reports. Special projects couldinclude supporting system budget priorities special funding sources and analyzingfinancial trends at UNC institutions or nationally.

This position is a hybrid work arrangement and will work at least three days per week onsite at the Dillon building in downtown Raleighs Warehouse District. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

About the UNC System Office
The UNC System Office includes the offices of the President and other senior administrators of the multi-campus University of North Carolina System. About the Team
The Finance and Administration division works as staff to the Board of Governors president and chief financial officer to support the financial management of the UNC includes the areas of budget development and execution facilities property capital construction debt management procurement policy tuition and fee development efficiency efforts and analysis of policy changes with a fiscal impact.

Minimum Education Experience and Skills
Bachelors degree in accounting banking finance business administration economics or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Competencies
Must have a working knowledge of Excel be detail-oriented possess strong communication skills have the ability tomulti-task and problem solve possess excellent organizational skills and must have the ability to work independentlyand meet deadlines. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are needed to compile examine and reconcile complexfinancial data across financial systems. Knowledge of a broad range of technology financial systems and software packages. High attention to detail is essential.

Preferred Education Experience and Skills
Two years of professional experience in finance data analysis and/or higher education; or; a masters degree in business administration economics public administration or other related ideal candidate would work well through ambiguity thrive in a changing environment and possess excellent communication skills with various levels of management - both internal and addition prospective employee will participate in cross-departmental projects and be a proactive team member/resource for other analysts on the team and across the entity. Candidate should possess strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance various projects simultaneously and understand prioritizations.
