Job Summary
Position SummaryThe Financial Analyst- Budgetsupports the Finance Department with responsibilities related to budgeting financial reporting and analysis. This position plays a key role in compiling evaluating and presenting financial data toassistin decision-making operational efficiency and long-term planning efforts across ResponsibilitiesAssistin the preparation tracking and review of annual operating and capital andmaintainthe capital improvement program funding budget correspondence with Member Cities and financial data and prepare reports on revenue expenses and budget the development and maintenance ofthe long-range Strategic Financial Plans (SFP)Perform reconciliations and prepare variance analyses for departmental and District-wide to the development of cost allocation models by gathering data and preparing budget-to-actual reports and other financial summaries for internal and external organized financial recordsin accordance withthe Records Management in financial modeling efforts to evaluate operational and capital planning with other departments to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial support for special projects and other finance-related initiatives as RequirementsEducation & Experience:Bachelors degree in accounting finance business administration or a related field work experience in financial analysis or budgeting may substitute for a of three (3) years of experience in finance (preferably in public finance).Knowledge Skills & AbilitiesSolid understanding of basic budgeting financial analysis and reporting analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with financial systems is a to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet and Physical Working ConditionsDriving a District vehicle for business may be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current valid and vehicle - appropriate driver s license of their resident physicalexertionmay require lifting items up to 20 use of hands and fingers for financial data entry reporting and work is performed in an office used includescomputer printer scanner calculator copier and telephone.
