We are seeking a versatile Accounting Bookkeeping & Payroll Manager to oversee our financial and operational compliance ecosystem. This role will lead full-cycle accounting manage payroll track multi-year production costs and head our annual property tax filings. This position will work full-time from our Santa Monica CA office.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Prepare accurate balance sheets income statements and profitability reports.
- Prepare data for local state and federal tax returns and other CPA data requests
- Oversee reconciliation of all ledger accounts sub-ledgers and bank statements.
- Manage the full cycle close process including accruals deferrals and journal entries.
- Supervise train and review the work of junior bookkeepers or accounting clerks.
- Distribute direct and indirect overhead costs to specific products or departments
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing (bi-weekly) for regular seasonal employees using a payroll processing platform
- Oversee the submission of payroll taxes W-2s and 1099s
- File accurate business property statements annually with California county assessors.
What Youll Bring to the Table:
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Finance
- Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word Excel Power Point and Teams)
- Advanced knowledge of accounting/billing systems software especially QuickBooks.
- Advanced communication customer service and organizational skills
- CPA/tax preparation experience a plus but not required
