RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Mobilize and Demobilize Flue Gas Treatment (FGT) and Water Trial Equipment in support of trials at customer sites.
- Assist with trial planning e.g. determine equipment requirements positioning at customer sites utility requirements etc.
- Plan mobilization of equipment for trials including estimating & tracking trial costs arranging equipment shipping to and from customer sites liaising with rental providers if equipment needs to be rented.
- Set up equipment for trial at customer sites and ensure that Lhoist and Customer safety requirements are met. Demobilize equipment and make ready for return at trial conclusion.
Operate FGT and Water Trial Equipment.
- Run trial equipment collaborating with the customer and other Lhoist NBD and NBD Technical team members.
- Develop and maintain competence in running trial instruments/ measurement equipment.
- Troubleshoot/solve equipment problems during trials.
- Train and/or supervise either contract labor or customer site resources when this is necessary to execute trials.
Maintain FGT and Water Trial Equipment
- Develop implement and execute preventive maintenance plans for all trial equipment.
- Clean repair equipment on return from trials to ensure that it is ready to mobilize.
- Ensure that equipment meets required OSHA and MSHA safety standards.
Develop and Maintain understanding of value in use (VIU) of LNA products for FGT and Water.
- Understand and follow the manufacturing process of the products being sold.
- Understand the nature and use of competitive products.
- Learn/develop the analytical procedures necessary to assess the products being sold.
Develop Equipment Based Solutions to Support NBD
- Work with fellow NBD Technical team members to develop new equipment/configurations to support new business development.
Lab Support
- Assist the lab team with analytical duties between trials if time allows
Perform other duties as assigned.
ATTRIBUTES:
- Track record of being able to learn quickly and demonstrate proficiency based on either self-learning and/or formal training.
- Willingness to engage and collaborate with an internal team as well as with customers when needed.
- Willingness to ask for help / clarification when needed.
- Strong hands-on expertise for both operations and maintenance with a range of equipment preferably including pumps VFDs compressors blowers various valves tanks mixers etc.
- Specific knowledge and experience with dilute phase conveying flue gas sampling gas phase FTIR and/or pumping lime or other slurries is desirable but not a requirement
- Resourceful with strong hands-on mechanical and basic electrical know-how to understand recommend and implement solutions to equipment related problems.
- Physically able to perform all trial tasks at both customer and Lhoist sites. Including lifting and carrying hoses pumps valves and other heavy trial equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work outside in a range of weather conditions with exposure to heat and cold noise vibration and other conditions typical of heavy industrial and mining sites.
- Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time and at busy times significantly more than this with the potential need to work over weekend and or to work night shifts.
- Comfortable with straightforward arithmetic with good written reading and verbal skills

- Ability to work in various environments (office field outdoors) as applicable to the role.
- Will be working in both an office environment and in a mining environment which may include exposure to:temperature extremes noise uneven surfaces vibration oils and atmospheric conditions such as dust fumes and metallic particles.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet confined spaces climbing ladders or stairs and accessing tunnels.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of background check and/or drug screening (if applicable).
- Flexibility to work overtime weekends or shifts as required by business needs.
- Ability to travel up to 50% as needed and/or directed by leadership.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or GED. AA degree in Business Finance Engineering or technical related field or equivalent work experience in the field is desired
Additional training in trade school or military experience in power production and/or auxiliary equipment maintenance and operation is a plus.
Required Experience:
- A minimum 4 years experience with air emission control equipment or water treatment equipment.
Preferred Experience:
- Five (5) plus years of previous with air emission control equipment or water treatment equipment in a customer trial setting. Previous Lead person Team Lead or Supervisor experience is a plus
