Field Service Technician Sheetfed Electrical
Position Overview:
The Field Service Technician Sheetfed (Electrical Focus)is responsible forinstalling troubleshooting diagnosing and repairing Heidelberg Sheetfed printing equipment with a primary focus on electrical and control system issues. This role supports customers byidentifyingelectrical faults performing repairs and ensuring equipmentoperatessafely and efficiently. Technicians also provide customer training on equipmentoperationand basic maintenance procedures.
Technicians take ownership of service assignments and collaborate with installation teams riggers fellow technicians and the technical helpdesk to resolve issues and complete installations. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems machine controls and the ability to interpret electrical schematics are essential for success in this role.
This position requires travel to customer locations to provide on-site service and support. A company vehicle is provided. When travel extends beyond the assigned geographic area airfare lodging rental car andper-demexpenses are covered. Delivering professional proactive and consistent customer service is a key expectation of this role.
Whatyou willdo:
Troubleshoot diagnose and repair electrical and control system issues on Heidelberg Sheetfed printing equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and service work on Sheetfed equipment underchargeservice and service contract/warranty agreements.
Interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams and system documentation toidentifyfaults and complete repairs.
Install and support new or used equipment in coordination with qualified riggers and installation teams including customer-requested equipment relocations.
Conduct scheduled equipment inspections (SSand annual inspections) ensuring proper documentation and photographs are completed.
Maintainaccurateservice documentation to support equipment performance tracking and protect both Heidelberg and customer equipment investments.
Provide customer training on equipment operation electrical components and basic troubleshooting procedures.
Demonstrate the value of Heidelberg service during customer visits andidentifyopportunities to supportadditionalservice orpartsneeds including APS and car stock sales.
Maintain strong product knowledge and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
Complete all required administrative responsibilitiesin a timely manner including expense reports time sheets escalation reports inspection documentation training requirements and company vehicle maintenance.
Requirements:
Technical training or experience in industrial electrical systems electrical maintenance or controls troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment automated machinery or control systems.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment issues in the field.
Ability to work independently while managing service assignments and customer expectations.
Strong communicationand customer service skills.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to customer locations.
Preferred Qualifications
Associatesdegree vocational apprenticeship or job-related work experience 3-5 years minimum
Experience working with printing equipment Sheetfed presses or similar industrial machinery.
Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems sensors drives and machine control interfaces.
Field service or technical support experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Prior experience performing equipment installation or commissioning.
Travel:
This position requires travel tocustomerssites covering the Central Region but not limited to thisareathe position includes a company vehicle. When traveling outside of this geographicalareaall airfare hotels and per diem are supplied.
Travel is(67 to 100%)
Salary:$30 to $35 an hour
