We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to support a growing Press Brake product line. This role is responsible for the installation maintenance troubleshooting repair and training associated with advanced sheet metal fabrication equipment at customer sites throughout North America.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills experience servicing machine tools or similar industrial equipment and the ability to provide exceptional customer support in the field. This position requires extensive travel and a customer-focused mindset.
As the Press Brake division continues to expand this technician will also support the installation and service of folding machines as needed.
- Become a technical expert on Press Brake equipment controls and operating systems.
- Install commission troubleshoot repair and maintain Press Brake systems at customer facilities.
- Diagnose mechanical electrical hydraulic pneumatic and software-related issues and implement effective solutions.
- Support the installation maintenance and repair of folding machine equipment as a secondary responsibility.
- Assist with equipment startup testing commissioning and customer acceptance.
- Train customer personnel on machine operation safety procedures troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Complete detailed service reports documenting work performed findings and recommendations.
- Work closely with service engineering and sales teams to support customer needs.
- Follow all company safety policies and service procedures.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused presence while representing the company in the field.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in Mechanical Technology Industrial Maintenance Electrical Technology Trade School certification or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of field service experience involving mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience servicing machine tools fabrication equipment or similar industrial machinery.
- Demonstrated experience with Delem and/or ESA controls.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and technical documentation.
- Ability to utilize electrical mechanical and diagnostic testing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout North America.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Must successfully pass a mechanical and electrical aptitude assessment.
- Experience with Press Brakes folding machines or sheet metal fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of CAM software used in metal fabrication environments.
- Sheet metal manufacturing or fabrication experience.
- Experience providing customer training and technical instruction.
- Additional language skills in Spanish French German or Italian.
- Effectively installs and commissions equipment with minimal supervision.
- Diagnoses and resolves customer issues quickly and professionally.
- Builds strong relationships with customers through technical expertise and service excellence.
- Delivers thorough training that improves customer productivity and machine uptime.
- Maintains accurate service documentation and communication with internal teams.
