Summary
TheField Service TechnicianAMSis responsible formaintaining troubleshooting and repairing natural gas compression equipment. This role requires technicalexpertise attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality. This positionwill work closely withexternalcustomersandinternal team membersto ensure that all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates and performs the job activities in a manner consistent with Kodiaks procedures goals andobjectives.
Required to troubleshoot some complex repairs and major equipment overhauls.
Builds andmaintainscustomer relationships.
Troubleshoot and diagnose all levels of compressor system failures.
Optimizecompression equipment performance.
Completes the proper reports and actions required by the areas operating procedures/policies.
Analyzes the job parts and supply inventory to effectively communicate with Supply Chain ensuring a sufficient level of parts foroptimaljob performance.
Prioritize repair work when there are competing demands.
Assess repair/replacement needs andidentifythe best solution.
Perform consistent inspections and maintenance of unitsto proactivelyensure unit health.
Education& Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Technical or vocational training in mechanical electrical or related field preferred.
Work Experience
3 years of compressor maintenance or related industry experience.
Caterpillar G3600/G3500 Natural Gas Engine experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Proficiencyin using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communicationand teamwork skills.
Physical Demands
Requires operation of heavy equipment.
Requiresemployeeto stand for up to 75% of the time.
Requiresemployeeto climb ladders or stairs.
Intermittent lifting of > 50lbs from the ground.
High noise environment (>85dbA) will occur with ear protection.
Potential controlled exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Requires work in outdoor conditions including extreme heat and extreme cold.
Overtimeextendedor non-traditional working hours may be.
Requires moving andmaintainingself indifferent positionsstoop kneel crouch and crawl toaccomplishtasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
Must wear all required PPE including fire-retardant clothing hard hats face shields hearing protection safety glasses and steel-toed boots.
Requires an employee tofrequentlytype and use computer and other office equipment such as a copier printer calendar telephone etc.
