Job Summary
Position Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation coordination supervision start up trouble shooting and operation of Retechs products and equipment worldwide. They identify analyze and repair products and equipment at a customers location.
Job Responsibilities
/ Install test repair modify and update Retech and competitors equipment.
/ Provide maintenance preventive maintenance and upgrades in customer facilities as well as emergency service.
/ Provide superior customer service both in person and remotely through a variety of mediums.
/ Train customers on proper operation maintenance and safety of equipment.
/ Provide support to customers as required.
/ Build customer relationships through positive and productive communication guidance training and feedback.
/ Document customer communications equipment issues service reports service reports and other required documentation.
/ Provide clear direction to subcontract or customer supplied workforce to execute project responsibilities that include welding assembly testing and operation of equipment and systems while ensuring a safe and efficient job site.
/ Report any unsafe situations work environments and potential conditions that could bring harm to employees to both Retech and the customer location.
/ Cooperate with the customer in resolving the unsafe situation so the work on site may continue.
/ Plan flow of materials through installation and commissioning phase of the project.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
/ Working knowledge of Vacuum Metallurgy Plasma Welders & Melters Electron Beam Melters and Vacuum Arc Re-melters Vacuum Induction Melters and Button Furnaces.
/ Working knowledge of materials suitable for use in high temperature corrosive environments.
/ Requires uses of basic hand tools not supplied by the company.
/ Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation Control System Hardware (PLCs Drive Software etc.).
/ Ability to troubleshoot diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical systems.
/ Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software (Office Outlook Operating System etc.).
/ Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
/ Ability to perform basic electrical calculations and have a basic knowledge of the NEC.
/ Experience with industrial schematics or P&IDs.
Education and Experience:
/ Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent.
/ 3 years experience installing commissioning testing operating and troubleshooting large capital equipment preferably controlled atmosphere melting systems or other metallurgical processing systems.

/ US Citizen with the ability to travel internationally.
/ Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external customers.
/ Exceptional organization skills with attention to detail.
/ Ability to be proactive and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
/ Detail-orientated with ability to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
Physical Demands:
/ The employee is regularly required to sit stand walk bend hear and talk.
/ The employee is frequently required to use hands.
/ The employee occasionally will be required to reach with hands or arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch and crawl.
/ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
/ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision and depth perception.
/ The work environment varies based on customer demand for this position.
/ The Field Service Technician is expected to travel up to 8-12 months out of the year.
