Overview

Position Summary:

Responsible for supporting wind turbine operations focusing on major component exchange jobs under the guidance of more experienced technicians. Responsible for performing basic maintenance inspections and troubleshooting of wind turbine systems. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop a foundational understanding of the renewable energy industry with a particular focus on safety-driven practices and high-quality service.
Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in major component exchanges for wind turbines including but not limited to gearboxes generators and blades.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on turbine systems.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Record detailed reports on maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of turbine systems and components.
  • Participate in ongoing safety training and adhere to safety-first culture.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requirements

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in wind turbine maintenance preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical mechanical and hydraulic systems.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the companys Zero Injury principles
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Safety conscious mindset and adherence to safety regulations
  • Required to travel to different jobsites on a limited notice
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines

Working Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; and extreme heat
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
