Field Service Mechanic Heavy Equipment

Position Overview

• The Field Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing troubleshooting repairing and maintaining a wide range of mobile and support equipment in active field environments. This role places a strong emphasis on hydraulic systems electrical diagnostics and powertrain troubleshooting supporting uptime across fleet and jobsite equipment.
• Regular travel is required including work at remote locations.
• Typical schedules include 104 95 or 86 with alternative schedules considered based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety policies procedures and jobsite best practices
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic electrical and mechanical systems on mobile and support equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical faults including wiring sensors switches charging systems starters and control circuits
• Utilize diagnostic tools software and test equipment to identify failures and determine corrective action
• Repair or replace damaged worn or failed components in field conditions
• Perform inspections routine servicing and documentation of completed work
• Dismantle repair and reassemble components using hand tools hoists and service equipment
• Read and interpret service manuals schematics wiring diagrams and technical documentation
• Perform welding and light fabrication as needed to complete repairs or modifications
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate equipment status to operations and leadership
• Exhibit a strong work ethic adaptability and a willingness to learn new systems and equipment

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with drilling rig systems high-pressure hydraulics and mobile haul equipment preferred
• Familiarity with rig power hydraulic circuits and electrically controlled mobile equipment is a plus
• Experience troubleshooting large-frame mobile equipment used in drilling or material movement preferred
• Experience working on OTR trucks engines and auxiliary equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex failures independently
• Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
• Ability and willingness to travel work outdoors and perform duties in all weather conditions
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and shifting priorities
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information and determine effective solutions
• Ability to maintain a professional team-oriented attitude in demanding conditions
