Join a premier environmental engineering and manufacturing organization to support the delivery of custom industrial air pollution control systems globally. This dual-faceted role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge environmental technology splitting time between advanced in-house systems assembly and hands-on field servicing. You will play a vital role in ensuring peak performance of capital equipment across the automotive aerospace and chemical processing sectors.
As a Field Service & Electrical / Mechanical Technician you will leverage your expertise in industrial automation and mechanical systems to ensure high-quality production and field execution. Key duties include:
Assemble layout and wire control panels in accordance with UL 508A standards and NEC code compliance.
Install conduit (EMT IMC and Rigid) process piping and precision instrumentation tubing for air and gas systems.
Perform predictive and preventive maintenance including Vibration Analysis laser alignment and thermal imaging on industrial fans and motors.
Commission troubleshoot and service Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) industrial dryers and auxiliary combustion equipment.
Program load and configure automation devices including PLC programming HMI interfaces and VFD setup.
Manage on-site installations supervise subcontractors and diagnose complex electrical mechanical and process system errors.
Draft precise customer engineering reports manage bills of materials (BOMs) and deliver technical phone support for the 24-hour service hotline.
Requirements
Technical Background: Proven industrial electro mechanical experience; open to all motivated individuals with strong trade skills specifically electrical conduit routing.
Software & Tools: Familiarity with PLC programming tools HMI development software and VFD configuration drives.
Experience & Standards: Experience working with industrial combustion systems burners or thermal oxidizers preferred; deep understanding of NFPA and NEC codes is highly desirable.
Credentials: Valid Drivers License is required; OSHA 10/30 Certification is a plus.
Physical & Travel Capabilities: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (Canada/Mexico); ability to lift up to 5075 lbs with assistance and work comfortably in heavy steel fabrication environments.
Safety Mindset: High-risk awareness with strict adherence to mandatory PPE protocols including steel-toe boots safety glasses and hard hats.
Benefits
offer an innovative and dynamic work environment where safety is a core value and technical expertise is highly rewarded. This role provides an excellent trajectory for career growth offering diverse hands-on challenges that bridge advanced shop manufacturing with global field services. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to engineering clean air solutions through robust safe and industry-leading field practices.
Required Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field; equivalent experience (5-7 years) in mobile equipment design will be considered. Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD for electrical system layout and schematic generation. Deep technical understanding of CAN bus protocols multiplexing and heavy-duty vehicle electrical architecture. Direct experience with NFPA standards or similar regulatory frameworks for specialized mobile machinery. Hands-on familiarity with Parker IQAN mobile controller software and Cummins Engine Diagnostics is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Design and fabrication processes to support electro-mechanical integration. Advanced computing skills including experience with Microsoft Access and Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) systems.
