Position Summary
The Field Safety Coordinator is responsible for leading implementing and continuously improving health safety and environmental (HSE) programs across assigned project sites and field operations.
This role serves as a trusted advisor to site leadership supervisors and craft personnel ensuring compliance with company policies client requirements and regulatory standards while fostering a proactive safety culture that drives incident prevention and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development implementation and continuous improvement of site-specific safety programs procedures and initiatives.
Provide visible field leadership through regular site inspections safety observations and engagement with employees and contractors.
Ensure compliance with OSHA environmental regulations client requirements and company safety standards.
Conduct site safety audits risk assessments job hazard analyses (JHAs) and behavioral safety observations.
Investigate incidents near misses and safety concerns to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Facilitate safety orientations training programs toolbox talks emergency drills and leadership safety meetings.
Partner with project management and field supervision to integrate safety requirements into planning and execution activities.
Monitor contractor performance and verify adherence to established safety expectations and work practices.
Maintain accurate safety records metrics reports and regulatory documentation.
Support emergency preparedness activities and coordinate response efforts during incidents.
Promote a culture of accountability ownership and continuous improvement in all aspects of safety performance.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of progressive safety experience in construction industrial manufacturing energy or similar field-based environments.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations industry best practices and risk management principles.
Experience conducting incident investigations safety audits and compliance assessments.
Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of an organization.
Ability to deliver training and effectively engage field personnel contractors and site leadership.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
Preferred Attributes
Professional certifications such as CSP ASP CHST SMS or equivalent are preferred.
Bachelors degree preferred not required in Occupational Safety Industrial Hygiene Environmental Science Construction Management or a related field preferred.
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and influence safe behaviors in a dynamic field environment.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to balance regulatory compliance operational demands and workforce engagement.
Experience supporting large project sites and managing safety performance across diverse contractor organizations.
