Guidehouse is seeking candidates to provide management consulting support to the Department of Energy (DOE). Roles are available at a consultant and senior consultant level and the consultant will have responsibility for project support research and analysis and technical solution development including analyses related to energy programs and next-generation energy technologies.

What You Will Do:

You will support the delivery of high-impact consulting engagements for the Department of Energy (DOE) focused on energy programs policy and technical program support. You will support DOE programs and processes to meet agency mission objectives and organization-specific business goals. You will contribute to project execution through research analysis and development of client-ready deliverables while building strong client relationships and consulting skills. As you gain experience you will take on increasing ownership of workstreams client interaction and team coordination.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Project Delivery & Execution: Support execution of client engagements through research analysis coordination and task management. Develop high-quality client-ready work products including reports presentations and analytical tools. Track progress against deadlines milestones and project metrics.

  • Research & Analysis: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support energy program design program data analysis emerging energy technologies and commercialization and policy assessments. Synthesize findings into clear insights and actionable recommendations. Support development of technical solutions and program support materials.

  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (e.g. industry and state stakeholders) through meetings presentations and written communications in support of DOEs objectives

  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with DOE clients and project teams to solve problems improve processes and create high quality deliverables. Work across multiple workstreams and manage competing priorities effectively. Contribute to a collaborative high-performing team environment.

  • Communication: Pro-actively communicate with the team and clients and drive project timelines and deliverables with attention to detail.

  • Learning & Growth: Develop subject matter expertise in energy programs technologies and related policies to contribute insights to project teams and clients and develop resources for stakeholders. Incorporate feedback and iterate quickly in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Need:

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD PUBLIC TRUST; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.

  • Consultant I -Bachelors degree inengineering business energy environment or science-related fieldAND Zero (0) plus years relevant post-graduation work experience

  • Consultant II- Bachelors degree inengineering business energy environment or science-related fieldAND One (1) plus years relevant post-graduationexperience;ORMasters degree inengineering business energy environment or science-related fieldAND relevantinternships or co-op experience

  • Senior Consultant- Bachelors degree inengineering business energy environment or science-related fieldAND Three (3) plus years relevant post-graduation utilities work experience;ORMasters degree inengineering business energy environment or science-related fieldAND One (1) plus years relevant post-graduationwork experience

  • Demonstrated experience in at least two or more of the following topical areas:

    • State and local energy program planning and design which could include market policy and economic assessments and energy security plans

    • Building design retrofits inspections and assessments

    • Energy workforce analysis training and best practices

    • Energy modeling and related savings calculators

    • Energy system planning support

    • Siting and environmental reviews to support program planning and design

    • Report writing and technical resource development

    • Program data analysis (e.g. development of program support tools resources or reporting out on program/project metrics tracking)

    • Federal grants management and monitoring and delivery

    • Stakeholder engagement meeting organization and facilitation which could include technical meetings

  • Ability to thrive in client service and team-based environments navigating ambiguity and working in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment

  • Strong analytical research writing and communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint Word Excel and data analysis tools

  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time during the work week

  • Experience leading workstreams and coaching junior staff

  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop analyses reports and deliverables

  • Strong client-facing communication and problem-solving skills

  • This hybrid position role may require up to 1-2 days on-site at a Guidehouse Office

  • This hybrid position is open to candidates who will reside within 50 miles of Arlington VA or New York City NY

  • Currently reside in the contiguous United States

  • Staff level of hire will be determined through Guidehouses interview process

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Familiarity with DOE organization and operations structure and/or programs

  • Experience with national state or local energy programs

  • Experience working with the public sector such as localities state tribal or federal agencies

  • Field experience on energy-related topics including working with engineering and trade contractors

The annual salary range for this position is $56000.00-$94000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill sets experience and training security clearances licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
