Job Description: As a Network Engineer you will support and maintain enterprise network server and security infrastructure across local metropolitan and private cloud environments. You will be responsible for ensuring system reliability performance and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues implement improvements and meet operational and project deadlines. This role requires strong technical expertise in networking systems administration and security practices within a dynamic IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Build maintain and troubleshoot physical and virtual server environments
Ensure systems are updated with current patches and security standards
Assist in the investigation and mitigation of security incidents
Configure maintain and troubleshoot Cisco switches and VMware virtual switches
Configure and manage routers including Cradlepoint devices
Monitor and manage support issue backlogs and ensure timely resolution
Support network infrastructure across LAN MAN and private cloud environments
Work towards meeting departmental and project deadlines
Document analyze and present recommendations for issue resolution and risk mitigation
Collaborate with team members to maintain operational stability and performance
Required Skills Experiences Education and Competencies:
Strong experience with VMware vSphere and virtualization technologies
Experience in server administration across Windows and VMware environments
Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Endpoint Configuration Manager
Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus
Strong networking knowledge including Cisco devices and configurations
Experience with firewall administration and network security practices
Familiarity with Linux system administration
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong communication and documentation skills
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills experience location and industry.
