Location: Dallas TX Type: Full Time Compensation: $135000 DOE

We are seeking an experienced Family Office Accountant to oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for a familys portfolio of entities.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer this is a highly hands-on role responsible for maintaining the books preparing financial statements completing reconciliations managing bill pay supporting tax filings and coordinating with outside financial partners. The Family Office Accountant will also help organize and maintain critical accounting tax estate planning and family office documentation.

The ideal candidate is an experienced accountant who is highly organized self-directed and comfortable working with confidential financial information. This person should understand the broader needs of a family office and recognize that success requires more than accurate accountingit also requires thoughtful organization responsive communication and sound judgment.

What Youll Do

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date books for multiple family entities including trusts investment companies interfamily loans personal financial statements and personal accounting.
  • Manage reconciliations bill pay and day-to-day bookkeeping across assigned entities.
  • Prepare financial statements and incorporate reporting from trust companies and investment advisors into consolidated family reporting.
  • Provide accounting records and documentation to outside tax professionals to support accurate timely tax filings.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for designated trust companies investment advisors banks tax accountants and other family vendors.
  • Respond to financial statement tax and related financial questions from select family decision-makers and other authorized family members.
  • Establish and maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for accounting tax estate planning and other family office records.
  • Manage documents within SharePoint ensuring information is stored securely logically and in a way that authorized individuals can easily retrieve.
  • Help transition additional entities and accounting responsibilities into the family office structure.

What Were Looking For

  • Five or more years of hands-on accounting experience.
  • Family office private wealth trust accounting or multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field preferred.
  • Strong experience with reconciliations financial statement preparation bill pay and tax support.
  • Excellent organization follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple entities with minimal oversight.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential family information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; SharePoint experience is preferred.
