Job Summary

Adelphi is seeking a licensed Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to provide full-time medical services to adult patients at a facility in San Antonio Texas. The physician will provide direct medical care to adults with intellectual disabilities and co-occurring mental health needs.

Hours: Eight-hour shifts between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM; schedule may be customized if necessary
Patient Panel: Approximately 25 adult long-term care patients across two residential homes
On-Call: One weeknight per week and one weekend per month

Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
Completion of residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Active Texas medical license in good standing with no sanctions.
Must maintain an active Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.
Must be credentialed with hospitals utilized by the assignment site.
Must hold and maintain current American Heart Association-approved CPR certification
Must successfully complete the required drug screening.
Must successfully complete the required fingerprinting process.
Must complete all required training before beginning the assignment.
All licenses and certifications must remain current throughout the assignment.

Responsibilities
Provide full medical care to adult long-term care patients with intellectual disabilities.
Provide direct patient care medical assessments treatment and face-to-face evaluations.
Respond to emergency calls and restraint-related incidents.
Respond to patient status changes and post-ER or hospital needs while on call.
Provide care to dually diagnosed adult patients with intellectual disabilities & mental health needs.
Deliver services onsite in a residential setting.
Conduct patient rounds and participate in the morning report by 9:00 AM.
Complete all required annual evaluations and quarterly documentation.
Participate in annual team meetings as required.
Participate in team meetings referred to as ISPAs as needed.
Provide weekly home-call coverage from 5:00 PM8:00 AM averaging 5 calls.
Provide monthly weekend home-call coverage from Friday 5:00 PMMonday 8:00 AM averaging 25 calls.
Maintain all required training throughout the assignment.
Comply with all applicable attendance leave operational and clinical policies.
Perform duties consistent with those assigned to permanent physicians at the assignment site.
Perform other duties as assigned.
