Location: This is a hybrid role based in Mount Laurel NJ with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote each week.

Note: Candidates must have at least 1 to 2 years of New Jersey family law paralegal experience. This is a must-have qualification for consideration.

Job Description

  • Support attorneys in all phases of New Jersey family law matters including divorce custody support alimony equitable distribution domestic violence mediation and related cases.
  • Draft pleadings correspondence subpoenas interrogatories affidavits motions and other family law documents.
  • Prepare cases for hearings mediation settlement conferences and trial including exhibits witness coordination deadlines and logistics.
  • File court documents through New Jersey e-filing systems and maintain accurate organized case files.
  • Manage attorney calendars court dates client meetings deadlines and case follow-ups.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients courts opposing counsel and internal team members.
  • Assist with Case Information Statements and financial discovery materials.
  • Keep electronic and paper files organized current and easy for the legal team to access.
  • Help deliver a calm responsive and positive client experience during sensitive family law matters.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of New Jersey family law paralegal experience required.
  • Experience drafting family law pleadings discovery correspondence and court filings.
  • Working knowledge of Case Information Statements required.
  • Familiarity with New Jersey e-filing systems strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
  • Strong organization writing follow-up and time management skills.
  • Professional communication style with clients courts attorneys and opposing counsel.
  • Ability to stay calm detail-focused and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus but not required.
