What You Will Be Doing:
- Argue contested hearings temporary orders hearings and family law trials.
- Lead mediations and adversarial settlement negotiations.
- Conduct depositions and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony.
- Develop litigation strategies and take over matters when negotiations fail.
- Review and revise motions pleadings and responses prepared by the drafting/paralegal team.
- Guide clients through court appearances with a trauma-informed and client-centered approach.
- Serve as the lead courtroom advocate while leveraging internal support teams for drafting intake and trial preparation.
- Collaborate with dedicated paralegals responsible for exhibit binders trial notebooks and hearing preparation.
Experience You Will Need:
- Active Texas Bar license or documented reciprocity process underway.
- Minimum 3 years of family law litigation experience; OR
- 5 years of civil litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in transitioning into family law.
- Strong courtroom experience handling contested hearings motions mediations and/or trials.
- Experience taking depositions and preparing witnesses.
- Ability to manage emotionally sensitive matters with professionalism and emotional intelligence.
- Strong advocacy negotiation and litigation strategy skills.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in high-conflict situations.
