Job Summary

Private Family in Brooklyn Heights NY Seeking a Family Assistant

Position: Full-Time Live-Out Family Assistant
Schedule: MondayFriday approximately 3:00 PM9:00 PM with occasional later evenings when parents have social commitments (advance notice provided)
Salary:$28/hr for the first 3 months after 3 months $30/hr after taxes; guaranteed 40 hours of pay per week ( you will be paid for 40 hours/week even if you are not needed 40 hours.)
Start Date: ASAP
Relocation: No local candidates only

About the Family

A warm and welcoming private family located in Brooklyn Heights NY is looking to hire a dedicated and professional Family Assistant to join their household. They value discretion reliability and someone who will be a long-term fit. Their current Family Assistant has been with the family for six years and is relocating creating a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to become an integral part of their household team.

Children: Three children ages 2 6 and 8

Pets: Cats

Household Staff: Full-time nanny and full-time housekeeper currently employed

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the afternoon and evening care of three children
  • Prepare after-school snacks breakfasts and lunches for the following day
  • Assist with school and extracurricular activity pick-ups as needed
  • Support bedtime routines including baths showers teeth brushing reading books and preparing children for bed
  • Complete laundry tasks that may remain from the daytime household staff
  • Perform post-dinner cleanup including loading the dishwasher cleaning the table and tidying the kitchen
  • Receive packages and answer the door when needed
  • Assist with household organization projects and general household support
  • Feed and care for the family cats
  • Work collaboratively with parents and other household staff to ensure the home runs smoothly

The ideal candidate is proactive trustworthy and confident in their skills. They should be naturally nurturing highly organized and comfortable working in a busy household with multiple children and household staff members. A positive attitude strong communication skills flexibility and a team-oriented mindset are essential. The family is seeking someone who is looking for a long-term position and will become a valued member of their household team.

Requirements
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a private household
  • Experience working with multiple children
  • Excellent references
  • Legal to work in the United States
  • CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record preferred
  • Comfortable with cats
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Long-term commitment preferred
