Faculty Associate Baccalaureate Health Programs (Pool Recruitment)

The ASU Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation is seeking part-time non-tenure track Faculty Associate positions. Faculty Associates are one-semester non-benefits-eligible fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications not to exceed an average of 0.40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Faculty Associates may not hold multiple non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

Faculty Associates will be assigned to the Baccalaureate Health Program. Responsibilities may include didactic/online teaching.

Essential Functions

Instruction & Curriculum Development

• Demonstrates expert knowledge in the field and the ability to transmit and extend that knowledge to students and others through dynamic stimulating and creative strategies.
• Demonstrates the ability to develop critical creative thinkers through continuous planning analyses evaluation and revision of courses and workshops.
• Demonstrates current knowledge in the field and sustained effectiveness in teaching in the classroom or in an organizational setting
• Teaches in a variety of environments including classroom or distance/online.
• Teaches on multiple ASU campus sites
• Develops implements and evaluates innovative teaching methods.
• Incorporates scholarly and creative activities into teaching.

Other Essential Duties

• Ability to quickly change priorities
• Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze and report data or results.
• Use computers effectively.

Required Qualifications:

• Hold an earned graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution by the time of the appointment
• Minimum of 2 years clinical/professional experience or teaching experience or combination of practice and teaching in community health health care coordination nursing or other applicable health related area or in area of applicable expertise

Desired Qualifications:

• Hold an earned Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in nursing healthcare or healthcare-related education leadership or other applicable discipline
• Two years of prior experience teaching in higher education
• Experience in coordinating courses degree programs or campus sites
