Job Summary
Facility Technician I
Location: Tacoma WA
Clean Harbors is seeking a Facility Technician I who will be responsible for performing hands-on operational activities at the facility including drum pumping drum dumping tank farm operations and waste handling. This role works under the direction of the Plant Foreman or Operations Supervisor and helps ensure that all work is completed safely and in compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Pay - $23.75 per hour
Full-Time Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Union Requirement
This position is part of a union workforce. The selected candidate will be required to join the union and remain in good standing as a condition of employment in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Perform basic facility operations including:
- Drum movement and drum opening
- Waste consolidation and material handling
- Tank farm truck loading and unloading in compliance with DOT segregation requirements
- Compactor operations
- Proper inventory and waste storage/warehousing
- Operate a forklift when necessary and complete daily safety inspections prior to operating equipment.
- Complete and submit all required documentation associated with waste tracking and movement.
- Utilize scanning applications for dumping and pumping activities.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Review applicable SOPs and successfully complete required training and quizzes.
- Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment.
- Assist with additional operational duties as assigned by facility leadership.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in industrial warehouse environmental services or waste handling environments preferred.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other facility equipment.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment including lifting standing bending and working around industrial equipment.
- Strong attention to safety and compliance with company procedures.
- Ability to complete required documentation and follow written procedures.
- Willingness to complete required safety and operational training.
