Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Supervise/direct work crew in the processing of scrap metal.

• Maintain daily workschedule ensuring team carries out assignments inaefficient and safe manner.

• Supervise train orient and direct staff of non-technical production subordinates.

• Proactivelyidentifiessafety and production improvements and brings these ideas to the attention of management.

• Hands-on supervisionto includeall aspects of shredder operation and maintenance.

• Interact with customers coworkers and peerss in a professional manner.

• Motivates team members to achieve positive results.

• Provide regular constructive feedback to team members.

• Coordinate with other facilities and commercialteam regionallytooptimizemonthly transfers and sales.

• Anticipate parts and castings requirements and provide forecastings to facility manager.

• Ability to develop and implement effective procedures to improve safety productivity and efficiency.
• Ability to direct and supervise production and maintenance personnel.
• Previous heavy industrial supervisory experience (min. 2 yrs.).
• Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in a scrap metal shredding environment.
• Computer skills including Excel Word and Outlook helpful.
• Must possess excellent problem solving organizational and team building skills.
• Abiity to work flexible hours as required to meet production needs.

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening which includes both urine and hair follicle testing.
