SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager the Facilities Technician supports the efficient safe and effective operation of District facilities by coordinating key operational systems resources and administrative functions. This position is responsible for managing inventory work order coordination key control scheduling support and facilities-related records to ensure District operations are organized responsive and aligned with operational priorities. The Facilities Technician serves as a central resource for facilities operations by supporting staff maintaining accurate records and promoting efficient use of District resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages cleaning supply inventory including ordering tracking and distribution to ensure adequate stock levels across all District sites.
- Maintains inventory control systems and monitors usage to support cost-effective purchasing and resource allocation.
- Coordinates facilities staff scheduling processes time-off requests and maintains staffing records to support operational coverage and reporting.
- Administers the District work order management system by receiving prioritizing assigning tracking and closing maintenance requests while monitoring completion timelines.
- Communicates with staff and supervisors regarding work order status priorities and follow-up actions.
- Oversees furniture inventory including tracking assets coordinating distribution and maintaining warranty records and documentation.
- Manages key control systems including issuing tracking and securing building keys and access credentials in accordance with District procedures.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation related to inventory work orders scheduling and asset management.
- Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of operational systems and processes.
- Assists with general facilities coordination and responds to operational needs as assigned.
- Performs other duties of a comparable nature as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work is performed in office warehouse and school facility environments including indoor and outdoor settings.
- Requires frequent standing walking bending stooping kneeling and reaching.
- Regular lifting carrying pushing and pulling of supplies materials and equipment typically up to 2550 pounds.
- Occasional climbing of ladders or stairs to access storage areas or facility spaces.
- Manual dexterity required to handle tools operate equipment and use computers and inventory systems.
- Requires visual acuity to read labels inventory records work orders and equipment information.
- Requires hearing and verbal communication abilities to interact effectively with staff and respond to operational needs.
- May involve repetitive motions such as lifting sorting and data entry.
- Requires travel between District sites as needed.
- Ability to respond to urgent or emergency situations as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in a variety of settings including offices warehouses storage areas and school facilities.
- Regular exposure to indoor and outdoor environments including varying weather conditions such as heat cold rain and snow.
- Frequent interaction with custodial closets maintenance areas and storage spaces that may involve dust noise and limited space.
- Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals maintenance supplies and equipment used in facilities operations.
- Work may involve noise from equipment machinery and normal school operations.
- Requires travel between District sites to deliver supplies manage inventory and support operations.
- Position may involve a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities interruptions and deadlines.
- Regular interaction with staff administrators and vendors requires professionalism and effective communication.
- Work is performed in compliance with established safety procedures and District policies.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or technical training in facilities management building maintenance business operations or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in facilities support inventory management maintenance coordination or a related field preferred.
- A valid drivers license is required.
- Experience with work order systems inventory tracking or scheduling systems is desirable.
- Equivalent combinations of education training and experience that provide the required knowledge skills and abilities will be considered.
