Facilities Technician III Union South

The Wisconsin Union is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for our facilities team at Union South the south campus living room destination for students guests and community members. Union South includes a 350seat movie theater a recreation center with bowling and billiards a twostory climbing wall a 60room hotel an art gallery multiple dining venues a pub and a wide range of meeting spaces.

In this role youll work alongside skilled technicians mechanics and trades staff to keep this vibrant venue visitorready and operating smoothly. Daily tasks can include anything from clearing clogged sinks and repairing kitchen equipment to installing flower beds patching drywall or troubleshooting mechanical issues.

The ideal candidate brings wellrounded building maintenance experience strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds frequently needed; Ability to work outside in inclement weather

Work Schedule and Location:

Monday thru Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a rotating weekend on-call schedule

• Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery equipment and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation

• Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness

• Troubleshoots escalates and documents issues according to established policies and procedures

• Works special events as required for operational needs

• Receives inspects inventories and distributes deliveries independently to appropriate entities

• Assists trades crafts vendors and technical staff with construction design and operational maintenance as needed

The expected starting salary is $24.00/ hr

Qualifications:

• 3 years of facilities maintenance experience detail the types of repairs you completed

• Experience documenting repairs through a work order system

• Facility maintenance experience in a large or complex multi-use facility

• Drivers license valid and meets UW Risk Management Standards- Must hold at time of hire and maintain during employment
