Position Summary
MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Senior Facility Engineer to support operations at a commercial facility in New Providence NJ. This position is ideal for a seasoned HVAC professional with a strong mechanical aptitude and excellent customer service skills. The Senior Facility Engineer will be responsible for maintaining HVAC equipment performing preventive maintenance troubleshooting mechanical systems and completing general building maintenance tasks to ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently.
This is a stationary site with occasional local travel to pick up parts or attend training at a nearby headquarters location.

Participation in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours emergency response may be required.
What Youll Do
Perform preventive maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on commercial HVAC equipment.
Maintain and repair air-cooled rooftop package units ranging from 10 to 75 tons along with two critical air conditioning units.
Diagnose mechanical electrical and HVAC system issues and implement effective repairs.
Perform maintenance on motors pumps air handlers controls lighting systems and other building equipment.
Complete work orders and preventive maintenance assignments through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Open update and close maintenance tickets while maintaining accurate documentation.
Communicate professionally with customers vendors and facility personnel through email and work order systems.
Perform general facility maintenance including:
Replacing ceiling tiles
Changing light bulbs
Minor plumbing repairs
Painting and touch-up work
Hanging pictures and signage
Furniture moves and installations
Conduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
Coordinate with outside vendors when necessary.
Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC maintenance and repair experience.
EPA Universal (CFC) Certification required.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Experience working on commercial rooftop HVAC equipment.
Basic knowledge of electrical plumbing and general building maintenance.
Proficiency using CMMS software Microsoft Office and email.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical school or vocational training in HVAC or building maintenance.
Experience with commercial building automation or controls systems.
Knowledge of commercial electrical systems.
Experience coordinating vendors and contractors.
Previous experience in commercial office or corporate facility maintenance environments.
Physical Requirements
Frequently lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
Work from ladders up to 30 feet.
Climb stairs and access rooftops safely.
Bend kneel crouch crawl and work in confined spaces.
Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Safely operate power tools hand tools and maintenance equipment.
