What is the compensation package
Pay Rate: (G24) $23.56 - $34.97 per hour (depending on experience)

What are the main duties (For the full classification specification click here.)
Perform skilled maintenance and repair work across multiple trades including carpentry electrical HVAC masonry painting and general facility upkeep.
Diagnose issues with building systems equipment HVAC controls and security/access systems.
Design modify or troubleshoot construction and maintenance projects as needed.
Conduct inspections on facilities equipment and project work to ensure safety and code compliance.
Plan prioritize and oversee maintenance projects including developing work plans and estimating time materials and costs.
Maintain accurate records of completed work materials used and purchases.
Monitor contractor work to ensure alignment with contract requirements timelines and quality standards.
Supervise fulltime and parttime maintenance staff ensuring safe and efficient performance.
Maintain tools and equipment performing minor and major repairs as needed.
Perform other facility maintenance duties to support recreation center operations.
What are the minimum requirements
Provo City will honor equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Three years of experience as an Apprentice Facilities Maintenance Technician OR five years of progressively responsible experience in a variety of trades or crafts such as carpentry plumbing construction electrical or other trade.
A valid lawful Drivers License.
What is the selection process
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted with the first screening being held on July 27 2026. Applicants mustmeet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
