Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician keeps our facilities safe functional and welcoming for the children families and staff we serve. This role covers a wide range of repair and upkeep tasks from carpentry and flooring to plumbing and general building maintenance and requires someone who can work independently respond quickly to issues and take pride in keeping our spaces in top condition.
Responsibilities
Perform daily repairs including drywall patching painting and touch up work
Complete basic carpentry and framing tasks
Repair and maintain flooring including tile vinyl and carpet
Perform basic plumbing repairs such as fixing leaky faucets clearing clogged drains addressing running toilets and replacing minor fixtures
Handle general building upkeep including light fixtures doors hardware and minor equipment repairs
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize repairs based on urgency and safety
Conduct routine inspections to catch maintenance needs before they become larger issues
Maintain a clean organized and safe work and storage area
Keep basic records of repairs completed and materials used
Communicate clearly with staff and leadership about maintenance needs and repair status
Requirements
Qualifications
Prior experience in maintenance facilities or a skilled trade (carpentry painting plumbing or similar)
Working knowledge of basic plumbing carpentry drywall repair and painting techniques
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
Comfortable using common hand and power tools
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
Good communication skills and a professional respectful manner
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing kneeling climbing ladders etc.)
Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license if applicable
