Fabrication Technician

RoleSummary:

Quantum Signal AI is looking for aFabrication this role you willberesponsible forthefabricationofprototype components assembly of systems preventive maintenance of lab equipment and organization of lab spacesin an R&D environment. Great candidates will have a broad understandingoffabrication methods such as3D printinggeneral metaland woodworkfinishing weldingand experience with CAD is a hands-on position ideal for a mid-leveltechnicianwith 2 to 5 years like lifelong learners who enjoy taking on diverse project-based workloads and value developing a wide range of skills. We are located in Saline position is in-person to encourage a culture of collaboration and mentorship.

WhatYoullDo:

• Use manual tools including bandsaws sheet metal bending welding lathe drill press tapping various hand toolsrouter sanderandbasic power tools.
• Operate 3D printers(FDM and SLA)and post processing on 3D prints.
• Finishing (coating or painting) manufactured parts.
• Review CADmodels anddeterminethe best method of fabrication within the constraints provided by the engineering team.
• Provide input on designs based on abilities and limitations of fabrication methods.
• Perform electrical work including soldering wiring harnesses crimping etc.
• Conduct preventative maintenanceand trouble shootequipment.
• Assemble and install components as projectsrequire.
• Create andreviewdocumentationassociated with the lab.
• Other duties as assigned.

WhatYoullBring:

• Associates degree(or equivalent experience)inAdvancedManufacturing Fabrication Technologyor similarprogram.
• 2 to 5 years of related working experience.
• Solid mechanical understanding of tools machines designs fasteners functionality etc.
• Proficiencyin CAD.
• Commitment to following safe operational procedures and PPE requirements.
• Ability to apply existing technologies and creative problem-solving techniques to unfamiliar challenges.
• Interestin learningnew things.
• Ability to lift objects of various shapes sizes and weights (up to50 lbs.).
• Ability to safely walk and stand for extended periods of time reach (including above your head) bend climb push pull twist squatandkneelas necessary.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with CAM pathing.
• Experience with CNC 3-axis mill CNC plasma cutter orCNC router.
• Knowledge of 3D printing and related software.
• Experience with pick and place machines.
• Workorhobby experience withreverse-engineering.
• Basic understanding of electrical concepts.
• Experience working as a member of multidisciplinary teams.
