Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Business Administration Public Administration or a related field;
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification;
- Ten years of progressively responsible experience in research administration including at least two years of direct pre-award experience;
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and submitting proposals to federal state foundation and other sponsoring organizations;
The CRA certification reflects the advanced level of research administration expertise necessary to independently support proposal development and submission activities
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Experience supporting NSF NIH DoD DOE or other major federal sponsors;
- Experience with eRA Commons or other federal sponsor submission systems;
- Experience with Streamlyne;
- Experience with Workday Finance;
- Grant and contract development;
- Grant review and submission experience;
- Experience with federal and state submission portals;
- Advanced knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200);
- Experience interpreting funding opportunity announcements and sponsor guidelines;
- Experience developing complex grant proposal budgets and budget justifications;
- Experience with electronic research administration systems and workflow management;
- Experience in a commonly used Pre-Award system such as Streamlyne;
- Experience in Workday Finance as it relates to Research Administration.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze funding opportunity requirements/guidelines;
- Develop grant and contract proposals with information obtained from faculty/staff;
- Develop and review complex grant and contract proposal budgets in collaboration with principal investigators and departmental personnel;
- Review grant and contract proposals for compliance with sponsor guidelines university policies and applicable federal and state regulations;
- Coordinate institutional review and approval processes to ensure timely proposal submission;
- Utilize agency portals to submit grant and contract proposals;
- Utilize Streamlyne or other electronic research administration systems to route proposals monitor approvals maintain records and generate reports;
- Advise faculty and staff regarding sponsor guidelines proposal development strategies budget preparation institutional requirements and submission processes;
- Analyze and prepare reports related to proposal activity funding trends submission metrics and research administration operations;
- Assist Post-Award staff as time allows and is necessary;
- Assist with implementation of electronic research administration tools;
- Other duties as assigned.
