Summary:
The Extra Help Advancement Assistant will provide administrative operational event communications and fundraising support to the Division of Advancement. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the broad range of activities that support university advancement including annual giving donor engagement events communications data management stewardship and frontline fundraising. The ideal candidate is organized dependable detail-oriented comfortable communicating with others and interested in learning about higher education advancement and fundraising.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Annual Giving - Assist with the development and execution of annual giving initiatives and appeals. Support planning and implementation of the universitys Day of Giving. Assist with Giving Tuesday and other annual giving campaigns. Help prepare materials track activities and support follow-up efforts associated with giving campaigns. : 20%
  • Event Management - Provide support for the planning coordination and execution of university advancement and donor engagement events. Assist with event timelines logistics materials invitations registration and other event details. Support the collection organization and analysis of event data to evaluate outcomes measure return on investment (ROI) and inform future event planning. Provide on-site event support including setup registration guest assistance logistics attendee experience and issue resolution as needed. Assist with event follow-up including thank-you communications data entry and other post-event activities. : 20%
  • Advancement Operations & Data - Assist with data entry and maintenance within TED the universitys advancement database. Support the organization and maintenance of advancement records and information. Assist with administrative projects and other operational needs within the Division of Advancement. Help ensure information is entered accurately and maintained in accordance with established procedures. : 20%
  • Communications - Assist with advancement-related communications and outreach efforts. Support the development and organization of communications for events giving campaigns and donor engagement activities. Assist with mapping and coordinating communications timelines for upcoming events and initiatives. Help prepare and organize materials for internal and external communications. : 15%
  • Frontline Fundraising - Provide support for frontline fundraising activities including donor outreach and telephone calls. Participate in select meetings and activities with Advancement staff to gain exposure to donor engagement and fundraising strategies. Assist Advancement staff with preparation and follow-up related to donor meetings and outreach. : 10%
  • Stewardship & Donor Relations - Provide support for donor stewardship and recognition initiatives as needed. Assist with event-related donor follow-up and thank-you efforts. Support special projects designed to strengthen donor relationships and engagement. Gain exposure to the broader functions of donor relations and stewardship without primary responsibility for day-to-day donor management. : 10%
  • Other Duties - Assist with special projects and initiatives within the Division of Advancement. Work collaboratively with Advancement staff across different areas of the division. Perform other duties as assigned. : 5%
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    Strong organizational and time-management skills. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team. Professional and positive approach when interacting with donors alumni university employees students and community members. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Interest in fundraising nonprofit management higher education communications event management or a related field is preferred.
