Job Summary
This position is intended for the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plan and implement engaging enrichment activities aligned with student interests and staff strengths including arts and crafts STEM cooperative games sports team-building and other recreational activities.
- Assist with daily supervision of students in both structured and unstructured settings (e.g. hallways cafeteria recess transitions) while using positive consistent behavior management practices.
- Maintain safe organized and orderly program spaces including assisting with classroom and storage area clean-up
- Build positive professional relationships with students to support engagement and maintain a welcoming respectful and inclusive environment.
- Communicate and interact professionally with parents students and coworkers while maintaining student confidentiality.
- Share relevant student observations concerns and program feedback with leadership staff as appropriate.
- Attend required staff trainings field trips and special events as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Teacher Assistant Director or Director
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- The employee is frequently required to stand walk sit use hands reach bend stoop kneel crouch climb and occasionally run while supervising students and program activities.
- The employee may occasionally lift and move heavy objects.
- The employee must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent distractions and interruptions including phone calls parent interactions walkie-talkie communication and loud settings.
- The employee must be able to respond appropriately to emergencies including student injuries and behavioral incidents.
- The employee is required to work outdoors in various weather conditions deemed safe and appropriate for students.
Requirements:
- College-level coursework or experience in education or a related field (e.g. psychology sociology or human services) with relevant experience working with children preferred such as school support childcare camps or youth programs.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Valid drivers license required.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday scheduling available.
- Approximate start time:3:30PM
- End Time:6:00 PM
Rate:
- $18.50 for college students
- $20.00 per hour for those with a relevant bachelors degree or currently employed by a public school system
