The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity foran Experienced Quality Engineer to join our Phantom Works Quality Organization in Southern California!
Join Boeing as a Quality Engineer and drive world-class safety and reliability across cutting-edge aerospace this position you will support quality defect reduction root-cause problem solving and continuous improvement to ensure parts and processes meet the aerospace manufacturing standards.
Position Responsibilities:
- Integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
- Develop quality metrics design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual company and regulatory requirements
- Conduct or analyze capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities
- Participate in design and quality reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated
- Analyze non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
- Provide Preliminary review dispositions for non-conformances
- Perform analysis tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
- Perform benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
- Provides quality interpretation of requirements
- Recommends corrective actions
- Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):(standard verbiage)
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
- 3 years of experience working quality processes and procedures
- 3 years of experience reading understanding and interpreting engineering technical information (e.g. drawings handbooks industry standards and specifications)
- 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook PowerPoint Excel and Word
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with Early Quality Involvement Tool (EQI)
- Secret Clearance preferred
- Experience with new development programs
- 3 years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- 3 years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
- Prior experience in aerospace manufacturing quality or another highly regulated industry
- Experience developing and reviewing proposals and contractual requirements
Travel:
Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
