We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician (or Veterinary Assistant with at least one year of experience) to join our growing team.
Our hospital offers both General Practice and Urgent Care services giving our team the opportunity to work with a wide variety of medical and surgical cases while maintaining continuity of care for our patients. As a Veterinary Technician youll play a critical role in patient care and hospital operations by partnering closely with our veterinarians and support staff.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting veterinarians during examinations treatments and procedures
Preparing patients for surgery and monitoring anesthesia
Taking diagnostic radiographs
Collecting and processing laboratory samples
Administering medications vaccines and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
Monitoring hospitalized and recovering patients
Providing compassionate nursing care to patients
Educating clients about treatment plans medications preventative care and post-operative instructions
Maintaining accurate medical records
Supporting both General Practice and Urgent Care workflows
Working collaboratively with the entire hospital team to deliver an exceptional client experience
High school diploma or GED
At least 18 years of age
Minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience
Ability to safely restrain cats dogs and small mammals
Knowledge of veterinary terminology medications and common procedures
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and client-service abilities
Positive attitude and team-first mindset
