Job Description

The Executive Director Portfolio Manager directly supervises the portfolio management teams covering the C&I and CRE portfolios. Additionally the role oversees the reporting output from the portfolio management teams in the Cash Flow and SBA verticals of the commercial bank. Responsible for production and accuracy of 1st line reporting covering portfolio management deliverables. Ensures timely resolution of identified issues recorded in the Archer system assigned to Credit Management. Serves as the voice of Credit Management in the Credit Risk Committee and regulatory interactions.

Essential Functions

Overall responsibility to lead and manage the C&I and CRE portfolio management teams and ensure the execution of all portfolio management responsibilities assigned to those teams.
Ensure underwriting product including Annual Reviews and Modifications are accurate and consistent with established content and format requirements and aligned with Credit Policy.

Ensure accuracy of 1st line of defense reports covering all commercial lines of business.
Present portfolio reports at the monthly Credit Risk Committee.
Ensure timely remediation of issues recorded in the Archer system assigned to Credit Management.
Ensure sustained satisfactory reviews by regulators internal auditors external auditors and loan review for depth of underwriting appropriateness of structure identification of Policy Exceptions and stress tested analysis of credits.
Ability to manage mentor and develop skills of junior managers
Ensure staffing levels are appropriate in accordance with budget requirements and adherence to SLA expectations.
Identify and resolve problems or issues with escalation to executive manager as appropriate
Remain current on all banking rules and regulations relating to Credit Administration
Maintain the desired balance between growth profitability and credit quality
Recommend improvements to policies procedures and work flow to maximize efficiency and control costs
Identify potential for credit losses and proposing appropriate risk mitigants as appropriate

Safety and Health for Supervisors with Direct Reports
Provide leadership and positive direction for maintaining the safety and loss prevention program
Actively participate in and support employee participation in the safety and loss prevention program by ensuring that employees know how to properly report a safety issue making sure that all accidents are promptly reported to Human Resources and documented and ensuring that prompt action is taken whenever workplace hazards are identified
Help implement emergency procedures

Education
Bachelors Degree Business Accounting or related degree

Work Experience
8 - 12 years Experience in portfolio management and / or commercial credit administration specifically related to Commercial CRE SBA Sponsor Corporate and Equipment finance

Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Financial analysis skills for complex and diverse loan portfolio with ability to distill primary credit risk issues from detailed analyses; propose appropriate loan structures and risk ratings
Knowledge of credit standards and underwriting practices covering a broad range of commercial credits including C&I CRE Municipal Lending and Lending to Non-profit Organizations
