The Executive Director of Transportation oversees all student transportation in the Jefferson Parish Schools (JPS). The Executive Director of Transportation is responsible for ensuring that students travel safely and efficiently to and from school and .

Scope of Responsibility:
- WorkscloselywiththeChiefOperationsOfficertodrivethemissionvisionandasetofmeasurableobjectivesfortheTransportation
- HoldstheTransportationDepartmentteamsaccountableformeetingtheirobjectivesandconductsformalperformanceevaluationsinaccordancewiththeJPSevaluationscheduleforcentraloffice
- PresentsprogressreportsoneachteamtotheChiefOperations
- EnsuresthattheTransportationDepartmentisincompliancewithfederalstatutesandregulationsstatelawsBoardofElementaryandSecondaryEducationrulesandregulationsJPSpoliciesandproceduresandrelevantcontractual
- Develops an efficient cost-effectivetransportationschedulethatbringsstudentstoandfromtheirdestinationsinatimelyandsafe
- Establishestransportationplansforemergency
- Resolves transportation-relatedincidentsandcomplaints while ensuring that all providers deliver high-quality services.
- Ensures accurate and timely communication regarding transportation news and incidents with key stakeholders including principals teachers parents and

- Works closely with the Chief Financial Officer to prepare and administer the annual Transportation Department budget and exercises proper financial controls.

Skills and Qualifications

- 5yearsofprogressivelyincreasingexperienceinschooltransportation
- Strongcommunicationskillsinmultiplesettingsandtheabilitytobeanengagingchangeagentandculture-creatorthatcaninspireand

Desirable Qualifications:
- MastersdegreeinAdministrationUrban/RegionalPlanningorTransportation

- CPR/AED Certification
