Exceptional Childrens Behavior Interventionist

Job Description

General Statement of Job:

The RBT is responsible for providing one-to-one or small group treatment interventions to consumers in class room and/or
community settings under the direction of the Teacher BCBA and Autism Specialist

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Provide individualized support to student with autism as defined within treatment and behavior plans
Implement Skill acquisition programs as directed by Teacher BCBA and behavior specialist
Implement behavior reduction interventions and programming with individual consumers
Collect data on targeted skills and behaviors
Maintain a daily assigned schedule for each child to ensure individualized behavioral needs are met.
Collaborate with all members of the treatment team to ensure consistency and will be present and
participate in necessary meetings supervision and training as required.
Assist the teacher BCBA and behavior specialist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions
Monitoring and documenting the status of the recipients progress and the effectiveness of the strategies and
interventions and behavior plans
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the field by participating in continuing education activities.
Adhere to the rights of students in all activities and interactions involving persons participating.
Maintain all administrative and/or clinical records required in a clear complete accurate and legible manner
Successfully demonstrates understanding and implementation of required Evidence Based Practices utilized.
Other duties and job responsibilities that may change from time to time based upon the needs of the school
and program requirements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Training and Experience:

Minimum Training and Experience:

  • At a minimum completed the RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) Examination.
  • At a minimum 1 year experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Bachelor Degree in a Mental Health field

Minimum Qualifications and Standards Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:

  • Professionalism conductive to the educational environment
  • Maintain good attendance
  • Flexible to work with EC leadership team and emergencies of students that arise
  • Maintain reliable transportation and valid drivers license
  • Pass a background check to ensure the highest level of safety

  • May be required to frequently communicate with school staff and team members in a way that supports the school mission and enhances delivery and quality of services
  • May be required to recognize and determine data and information pertinent to essential job functions
  • May be required to frequently transport resources and materials required to provide quality services
  • May be exposed to a variety of work settings including school and community environments
